Fire Rated Glass

Fire rated glass has come to play a critical role in building safety, lighting and visibility, as well as, impact resistance. This glass is primarily used to in preventing the spread of fire as applicable by building codes. There are two types of glazing Fire-Protective or Fire-Resistive. Fire-Protective-contain smoke and flames for a short duration (45 min max) and Fire-Resistive-contain flames, smoke and protect against radiating heat for longer time periods (exceeding 45 min). The applicable degree of impact resistance is based on ANSI 297.1, CPSC CAT. I & II.
